I was recently introduced to the wonder that is Julie’s Organic Ice Cream, and now I fear I may have an addiction.
Julie’s, a family owned ice cream business, specializes in none other than organic ice creams and frozen yogurts which taste just as good as the ice cream you’d find in your local grocery store. Having recently partnered with GlutenFreeda Foods, they have released an organic, gluten-free ice cream sandwich that is to die for.
I was gently coaxed (ok, I’ll be honest, my mouth was watering) into tasting their vanilla cookie with lemon frozen yogurt. The combination was perfect–a light crunchy cookie that tastes like the real thing (do any other GFers get tired of discovering this?) and a creamy lemon flavor bursting from the middle. It tasted like summer.
If you’re in the mood for a more “traditional” ice cream sandwich, however, have no fear. Julie’s makes a vanilla ice cream sandwich with a gluten-free chocolate cookie, so you never feel like you’re missing out. And for those of you who can’t eat dairy–they also make a few coconut milk-based desserts with you in mind. (Can’t wait to try those next!) Julie’s Organic Ice Cream can be found in many organic grocery stores, as well as at Whole Foods.
Enjoy–but be careful, you might just end up with an addiction too…
